Have you run out of ideas of what to do with the children over the summer holidays? Most of the affiliated Badminton England Junior Clubs and the Forza sponsored Performance Centres run summer camps. These courses vary depending on the level your children play at, if they are beginners it could start at a one to three day taster. The more experienced children will go to camps which could be residential and last up to a week.
For the beginners the Badminton affiliated clubs and Performance Centres will have qualified coaches, who will teach the children good techniques from day one. Most Performance Centres will bring some of their talented young players along to show the parents what can be achieved
The more experienced players who go on residential courses away from their local club will experience a different method of coaching and play against other opponents to give them a wider experience of the game.
These courses are very popular and do get filled up quickly, for the beginners don't worry about rackets etc the Performance Centre or club will supply these along with shuttles, you just need to make sure that your child has clean non marking trainers, suitable Tee shirt and shorts and most importantly a capped drink bottle. The coach will ask if there are any medical issues they should be aware of.
