England have had a good start to the Commonwealth Games with good wins over Falkland Island and Uganda. England, seeded third behind Malaysia and India they will have to remain focused if they wish to bring team gold back to England.

Anthony Clark reached his 100 Caps for England yesterday against Uganda, playing with Nathan Robertson his doubles partner.

Later this week England take on Mauritius and then fifth seeds Canada in their two remaining group matches with the top two in each of the groups going into the quarter-finals (you can watch on the BBC red button service).

A strange turn of events means that Carl Baxter, replaces Andrew Smith (Andrew has a long term injury) in the match with Canada, this will have special meaning for Carl who was born in Winnipeg, Canada.

In the Mixed Doubles Jenny Wallwork is a very able new mixed doubles partner for Nathan Robertson, who won the Mixed Doubles with Gail Emms last time, this pairing have large boots to fill. Nathan is also bidding for his first men's doubles gold with Anthony Clark.

In the women's singles English National champion Elizabeth Cann, who lost the bronze medal play-off for Jersey to Scotland's Susan Egelstaff four years ago, will represent England for the first time in Commonwealth Games.

Scotland and Wales have a tough group with the hosts India and number two seeds Malaysia in their group. If the results go to form then Scotland can expect to face England in the quarter-finals and England will play India in the semi-finals.
